PoIC + Wiki
The previous Blog based manual writing is at the limit. Parallel to the new WordPress Blog, I started a small project that editing the manual using Wiki system : PoIC v. 2.0. The applied Wiki here is MediaWiki that is same one with Wikipedia. It is easy to use, and powerful tool for editing. A big reason to move new .org server is to use newest version of the MediaWiki.
I finished installation and set up of the Wiki, and pour v. 1.5 on the database. It is still (or always?) under development, but ready to use. As a nature of Wiki system, anybody can join for the editing.
- Drop in, and Read articles
- Leave comments or join to discussion on the Forum
- Edit articles
I accept editing articles until it is productive and constructive. As a first step, you can create your own account and login. If you are not familier with Wiki system, start from Help page that I collect during basic setting. Wiki is not difficult.
I’m happy if I could collaborate with you :)

Hello Hawk,
After reading your Service page, I’m interested in getting some quad cards. I read that you cannot offer a personalised service. But I’m after another product I cannot find in the UK. Since you are open to suggestions, do Japanese shops sell Book Rings/Loose Leaf Binder Rings? This is the product I’m looking for:
http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=937580&Nr=200000&N=201453&An=browse
only cheaper! I suppose a box of 100 weighs a lot, and the deliver would be high from Japan. But is this something you have seen before?
The idea in mind is to punch holes in index cards, and use binder rings to hold them together. Making my own notebook with removable cards.
What do you think?
Cheers,
Jon.

Yes, I can find it. It is sold lesser than 100, say 10-20 per pack in Japan.
I think your idea is nice. Because a problem with hipsterPDA is the clip. Everytime we have to remove the clip for new page (card).
Please let me know how many rings you need by email hawk(att)pileofindexcards.org. Then I look for the ring and estimate how much the extra costs.

Excellent! Yes, the big clip looks great, but makes a block of cards fiddly to handle, especially to just pull out a fresh blank. It is really making me dis-inclined to check through my actions.
I was thinking of using 2 or 3 rings for each hPDA. I’d like to experiment, so 10 or 20 would be good. I was also thinking today about some sort of home-made hard cover. But I might just scavenge something from old spiral pads at work. When the pad is used up, they throw it in the bin. I might get a good thickness of card easily.
I’ll send an email. Thank you very much for listening.
Cheers,
jon.
